Objective of the Job

The City of Tshwane’s Group Human Capital Management Division wants three competent and motivated Administrative Officers to join their organisation. The successful candidates will be based at Tshwane House but will service across the City’s areas. The work is to deliver effective and efficient human capital administrative and operational services to various client departments of the municipality.

As part of the City’s core administrative engine, these officers will ensure the smooth operation of human capital activities, from recruitment and selection to benefits administration and performance management.

Minimum Application Requirements
To be eligible for this wonderful opportunity, the following requirements should be met by applicants:

Educational Qualification: Grade 12 (Matric)
Experience: A minimum of six (6) months of working experience in administrative support services
Skills: Should be computer literate
Advantage: Having previous experience with working on the SAP system will be highly preferred
Screening Requirement: Willingness to undergo a criminal record check and having fingerprints taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at their own cost

Key Functions and Main Responsibilities

The Administrative Officer will provide overall human capital and administration assistance to the departments of the city. Main duties will include:

  • Administration of Remuneration and Benefits
  • Assist in processing salary-related matters, employee benefits, and leave administration.
  • Capture and maintain accurate information.
  • Assist Recruitment and Selection
  • Administer recruitment processes such as advertising, shortlisting, and interview scheduling.
  • Maintain HR policies as well as legislative compliance.
  • Administration of Labour Relations
  • Facilitate support in the administration of disciplinary and grievance procedures.
  • Monitor correct filing of labour relations reports and documents.
  • Skills Development and Training
  • Provide support in planning and tracking training interventions and development programs.
  • Provide administrative support for workshops, courses, and skills audits.
  • Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
  • Ensure adherence to OHS legislation in the department.
  • Assist in coordinating health and safety awareness campaigns.
  • Individual Performance Management
  • Assist in monitoring and recording employee performance appraisals.
  • Facilitate performance review processes in line with City policy.
  • This position requires a proactive and service-oriented individual who can multitask, collaborate with multiple stakeholders, and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive HR-related information.
